The Future of Law

The SYS Annual Conference 2018¬†takes place this year in the Sheraton Athlone Hotel from 9 to 11 November 2018 on the topic of “The Future of Law“. The conference is eligible for 3 legal general CPD points and full details of the speakers and panels will be circulated closer to the date.

The moderator for the 2018 SYS Conference will be Patrick Dorgan, the incoming President of the Law Society of Ireland. The conference will be Patrick’s first engagement as President, so we are very honoured to have him!

We are delighted to welcome Rachel Hussey, partner in Arthur Cox and committee member of the 30% Club. Rachel was recently honoured in the Financial Times and HERoes Champions of Women in Business 2018 List as one of the top 100 Female Executives. This is a fantastic recognition of Rachel’s work in championing women and gender parity in the workplace, and we look forward to hearing her presentation on these issues at the SYS Conference.

We are very excited to introduce Karl Manweiler, managing director of Leman Consulting and technology expert. Karl has over 18 years of experience in the technology field, and will present to the SYS delegates on how tech will impact the legal profession. A must-see for all young solicitors!

We also have a very special guest speaker lined up who we are keeping under wraps until closer to the conference. Make sure to check back for further details. This is one not to miss!
